Cycle is a biological filter supplement specially developed to maintain the proper equilibrium in aquarium water. Cycle is formulated from a unique combination of bacteria (11 different strains) that work together to eliminate the majority of pollutant materials. Our method of production ensures the existence of very high concentrations of heterotrophic and lithotrophic bacteria. With a new biotechnology process, improved fermentation has been achieved. This results in much higher concentrations as well as reduced bacterial floc formation. With better bacterial dispersion in the solution, dosages are more representative. Every available space on bio-filters will be better colonized by the various strains of bacteria. Cycle contains over 100 billion bacteria/ml. There is a guaranteed minimum nitrifier count of 1010/ml (10,000,000,000) for Nitrosomonas and Nitrobacter. Each is grown separately to ensure optimum population of both communities. The recommended dosage stays the same as all previous formulations of Cycle, yielding an actual inoculation of 5 x 1011 (500,000,000,000) bacteria per 10 U.S. gallons (37.8 liters). Therefore, with each weekly addition of Cycle, over 500 billion beneficial bacteria essential to the biochemical balance of the water are added to an aquarium. Cycle maintains its stated bacterial concentrations for at least two years. Its unique method of production permits the maintenance of each bacteria in a dormant state. Cycle has a superior shelf life of at least two years before the seal is broken. Once opened, the product will remain viable for at least 6 months. Cycle employs a team approach to biological water purification. By blending together a number of heterotrophs with the Nitrosomonas and Nitrobacter strains used to remove ammonia and nitrite from the water, the entire process is more efficient and effective. Cycle performs three distinct actions within the aquarium : waste solubilization, nitrification and denitrification.
